Vegetables, Fruits, Potatoes and Betel leaf are exported from Bangladesh. Countries that are exported to the Middle East, Europe, Asia and North America. Currently, 500 members are exporting vegetables and fruits through BFVAPEA.

History and Background of BFVAPEA
Bangladesh Fruits, Vegetables & Allied Product Exporter’s Association came into being in the 1984 under Ministry of Commerce of Company Act 1913 at that period some important persons of the country under the leadership of Mr. S.I Chowdhury, Proprietor Bengal Trade promoters, Mr. Zainul Abedin, Proprietor, Afco Aebdin Ltd, Proprietor, Sohail Enterprise & Mr. Ghulam Rabbani thought to give shape of an Association With 11 members Executive Committee Mr. S.I Chowdhury and Mr. Ghulam Rabbani were the founder president & General Secretary respectively of the association.

Introduction of BFVAPEA & Exporting Countries
This is only association in Bangladesh for export of horticultural fresh vegetables, fruits, betel leaf and allied products to the global market. Presently there are more than 500 members are actively involved with the business of fresh fruits and vegetables export to different destination of the world although Bangladesh has started export of horticultural produces since 1973, but BFVAPEA formally established in 1984 for export promotion and diversification. Export of fresh horticultural produces is mostly carried on consignment sale basis under the common platform of BFVAPEA

1. Exporting Countries, EU (UK, Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Greece and Ireland) is the second largest importing region for Bangladesh and the highest amount of fresh vegetables and fruits are exported to the Middle East Countries like KSA, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait. Bangladesh is exporting very few amounts of fresh vegetables and fruits in other two Asian countries like Malaysia and Singapore. Between two North American countries only Canada is our client.

2. Exporters established with the objectives of bringing in discipline in the export of horticultural crops, ensuring quality of export crops and under taking developmental activities for export promotion and diversification.

3. Export of Fresh fruits and Vegetables are mostly carried on "Consignment sale basis" under the common platform of Bangladesh Fruits, Vegetables & Allied Product Exporter’s Association (BFVAPEA)

4. To divesification of agricultural production on export which contributes on national income and poverty alleviation.

5. To fullfill the aspiration of horticultural Exporter's growers in Bangladesh and it will further enhance activities of export in the country.

6. To Promote, protect and safeguard of the interest of Exporters engaged in exporting of Fruits, Vegetables & Allied Product items by Air, Sea and Road in connection herewith.

7. Association is Working as a service provider to producers, exporters of Bangladesh and importers of global market.

8. To serve better quality vegetables, fruits and allied products to global importers and earn lot of remittance by exporting fresh produce.

9.To find out the new global market for export of horticultural fresh produces from Bangladesh with comply with roles and regulation of importers country.

10. To generate rural employment and raise rural incomes for the rural poor people as well as agronomical and horticultural growers of Bangladesh through increase export of fresh vegetables fruits and allied products from Bangladesh.

11. To diversification of agriculture production on export which are helping to make a substantial contrition on income and poverty alleviation through employment generation for the rural poor people and growers of Bangladesh

12. Help and promote of exporters to explore more agric business investment and export opportunities through improve our export quality as better than our competitors like India, Pakistan, Thailand.
