The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Mymensingh, Bangladesh was established for Mymensingh division in 28th August 2017 by an Ordinance (vide East Pakistan Ordinance No. XXXIII of 1961) for the organization, regulation, supervision, control and development of Intermediate and Secondary level public examinations and educational institutions. The Ordinance was, however, amended in 1962 (No. XVI of 1962) and in 1977 (No. XVII of 1977).

BISE Mymensingh has started its journey on 28 August 2017 with the educational institutions of four districts namely Mymensingh, Netrokona, Sherpur and Jamalpur. It is a privilege for the educational institutions of these four districts as BISE Mymensingh can constantly monitor, supervise and help them for further improvement of Secondary Education in this region. BISE Mymensingh is a significant establishment in education city Mymensingh. BISE Mymensingh is committed to implementing the decentralization policy of the Government in the area of Secondary Education through its excellent and prompt service.

The number of institutions under board:
Currently, there are 1800 recognized and 228 temporarily recognized schools and 235 colleges under Mymensingh Education board.
