SEIP has been working for developing market responsive and job focused skills of the people through different training programs by engaging the industry associations to meet the requirements of different sectors. In order to develop skilled workforce for Shipbuilding sector SEIP has engaged Association of Export Oriented Shipbuilding Industries of Bangladesh [AEOSIB] through a formal contract signed on 16 January 2016 covering skill training of 10,000 Trainees. AEOSIB is a Government approved trade organization which represents the export oriented shipbuilding industries of Bangladesh. AEOSIB was registered on 18 March, 2010 with the Register of Joint Stock Companies under The Companies Act 1994, as a trade organization. The shipbuilding industry has been declared as a ‘thrust sector’ by the Government of Bangladesh due to its capability of bringing a large sum of foreign currency. It is also to be noted that due to high turn over the shipbuilding industry, in the coming years through contribution of this sector Bangladesh shall be regarded as a middle income nation.

AEOSIB is a non-political and non-profit organization. The aim of AEOSIB is to promote the development and wellbeing of the shipbuilding sector, namely shipbuilding industry of Bangladesh as well as to safeguard the interest of all, especially its members, engaged in development of shipbuilding industry of the country. The reputed Shipbuilding Companies who have been working with the association are highly qualified and experts in the field of ship construction. Most of them are Captains of Merchant Vessels, Marine Engineers, Naval Architects, Economists, Financial analysts etc.
